Philis 3 - Yanks 2 in the Spring Training Opener!

Well it seemed today as if things picked up just where they left off with both of these teams, after just playing each other 4 months ago in the 2009 World Series both teams met again on Thursday March 4th, in Clearwater FL for the first 2010 spring training opener for both clubs. Only this time on the mound for the Phillies wasn't the left hander Cliff Lee it was the right hander Roy "Doc" Halladay. Halladay would square off against which some people might say you might see this match up again this October the Yankees ace and left hander C.C. Sabathia. But all eyes were on Roy Halladay as in 2 innings of work he had 3 strikeouts, threw 24 pitches, and 21 out of 24 were all strikes! This has to be a good sign for the players and the fans. Even though Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were not in the lineup Halladay said he still had a great time. "Halladay is going to like pitching in the NL against the 7, 8, 9 batters. The kind of pitcher he is, I expect him be even better with the Phillies than he was with the Blue Jays" said Yankees ace C.C. Sabthia.

The Phillies beat the Yankees by a score of 3-2 and at one point of the game it seemed like things haven't changed for both these teams giving you the goose bumps in the top and bottom of the 9th inning. The Phillies will be playing the Blue Jays Halladay former team in their second spring training game tomorrow afternoon at 1:05.

This is beyond the start of unfinished business, this is Beyond Babseball.
